The Detroit Tigers try to hold onto first place in the American League Central this evening, when they open a three-game series with the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park. The Tigers saw their lead in the division dwindle down to two games this weekend, as the Minnesota Twins took two of three from their division rivals at the Metrodome.

Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson and Curtis Granderson were announced as participants in the 2009 All Star Game on Sunday.
The Lions made some moves they hope can immediately begin this process by acquiring Pro-Bowl linebacker Julian Peterson from the Seahawks and signing cornerback Phillip Buchanon to shore up the Lions paltry secondary. They also added Grady Jacksonto anchor the Lions defensive line and fill the void left behind by Cory Redding.
Report: Wallace agrees to sign with Celtics
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Forward Rasheed Wallace has reportedly agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics.
Reports from FOXSports.com and the Boston Globe on Sunday indicated Wallace is expected to sign a two-year contract for the mid-level exception. He cannot formally do so until Wednesday, the first day NBA free agents can sign.
Morneau, Twins use six-run fourth to top Tigers
Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 and belted a two-run home run during a six-run fourth inning, while Nick Blackburn tossed his third complete game of the season to lead the Minnesota Twins past the Detroit Tigers, 6-2, in the rubber match of a three-game set at the Metrodome.
Blackburn (7-4) gave up two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits with six strikeouts and one walk to snap a two-start skid. Blackburn has just two wins in his last six outings.
